@Simi Valley All Comers Series
The Triton 26 member Winter Track and Field Team traveled to the Simi Valley High School All Comers Series this Saturday to prepare for the Winter State Qualifier on January 28th. Despite windy conditions, Pacifica had a number of solid early preseason practice marks.
Sandra Harness was 2nd place overall in the Girls 60m and 200m dash. After a misstep in the 60m hurdles, she still managed to place 4th. Her best performance of the day came when, on the first throw of her career, she threw the javelin nearly 19 feet farther than the qualifying mark on her quest to qualify for the Two-Day, 7 event Heptathlon at the Arcadia Invitational in April.
Camille Codera and Dajshai Bennett went 1-2 in the Girls 300m dash, while the team of Jasmine Guerrero, Ceana Mesa, Carolina Diaz, and Emily Quila took 2nd place in the 4x100m relay.
Olivia Parra (800m), Jocelyn Simental (Long Jump/60m), and Viridiana Martinez (60m/300m hurdles) competed well in their events respectively.
Cyrus Prudhomme was the overall winner of the Boys 60m dash in a field of 71 competitors. He also placed 2nd in the 300m dash less than twenty minutes after anchoring the Tritons to a 1st place finish in 4x200m relay.
Kamar Wilson was the overall winner in the Boys High Jump in a field of 22 jumpers. He also placed 5th in the 60m dash respectively.
Daniel Casillas and Ruben Ruiz went 1-2 in the Boys 800m run, also placing 2nd place in the 4x800m relay alongside Isaac Cho and Dylan Cobb..
Gonzalo Chavez was 3rd overall in the Boys 400m dash and was also a part of the 1st place 4x200m relay team alongside Raymond Ortiz and Neftali Guerrero.
Edgar Romero was 1st in the Boys JV 60m hurdles, and 3rd in the 300 hurdles.
Erick Chavez (Long Jump/60m), Michael Chester (Long Jump, 60m, 300m), Ferny Flores (High Jump, 60m, 200m, 300m), Khaleed Benson (60m), Gabriel Oliveras (800m), and Enrique Martinez (800m) all competed well in their events respectively.
