In the opening event of the day Michael Johnson, Kyrie Wilson, Malik Sherrod, and Cyrus Prudhomme won the 4x100m race in exciting fashion as a bad handoff forced Cyrus to run down Rio Mesa's anchor leg to victory which set the tone for the rest of the competition. Cyrus ended up winning the 100m and 200m dash, while anchoring the winning 4x400m relay team with Ruben Ruiz, Kyrie, and Edgar Romero. Kyrie was the Long Jump winner and was 2nd in the 200m despite dealing with illness. Ruben Ruiz was the winner of the 1600m race and placed 3rd in the Long Jump. Edgar Romero won the 400m. Malik won the 300m hurdles, placed 2nd in the 110 hurdles, and was 3rd in the 100m. Victor Santandor was 3rd in the 110m hurdles and 3rd in the Triple Jump. Brian Palomar and Jamshid Atashbar were 1st and 2nd in the 800m run. Paul Blevins was 2nd in the 300m hurdles and 3rd in the 400m. Fabian Lupian was 3rd overall in the 200m. Freshmen Jonathan Saucedo was 2nd in the 3200m run. Senior Daniel Gonzales was 3rd in the High Jump. Senior Brandon Lyons jumped a lifetime best to place 2nd in the Triple Jump. Senior Jacob Guzman was 1st in the Shot Put and 2nd in the Discus, while teammate Kalani Rose threw a lifetime best to place 2nd. Freshmen Christian Alejandre was the winner of the Discus.
The 4x100m relay team of Gillian Serate, Dajshai Bennett, Samantha Tamayo, and Kierra Sherrod won the opening event of the day in a nail biting race as Kierra ran down the Rio Mesa anchor leg in similar fashion as the boy's race. Kierra went on the win the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles in dominant fashion. Gillian Serate won the Long Jump and Triple Jump in her first ever attempts in the events. Seniors Jasmine Guerrero and Samantha Martinez placed 2nd and 3rd in the 400m, while Jasmine also placed 2nd in the Triple Jump in her first attempt at the event while just finishing a 400m race. Dajshai Bennett and Samantha Tamayo were 2nd and 3rd in both the 100m and 200m races. Kimora Pooler was 1st in the Shot Put and 3rd in the High Jump in her first competition of the year coming off a knee injury. Alexis Short was the Discus winner and was 2nd place in the Shot Put.
Boys Junior Varsity
A core of Varsity caliber athletes came down to bring the victory to the boys JV team. The relay team consisting of Sebastian Cervantes, Savonne Farmer, Nohl Williams, and Isaiah Moon opened the meet with a dominating win in the 4x100m relay. Savonne and Sebastian went on t get 1st and 2nd in both the 100m and 200m sprints. Isaiah Moon was also also 2nd in the Long Jump and Triple Jump, and was 3rd in the 100m dash. Bryan Diaz, Nohl Williams, Angel Dominguez, Alejandro Ruiz, and Edward Luna swept the top 5 spots in the 400m dash. Damien Melgoza, Manuel Hernandez, and Juan Ramirez swept the top 3 spots in the 3200m. Devin Aupiu, Nohl Williams, and Daniel Pierce Swept the top 3 spots in the High Jump. Jesus Jaramillo and Maurice Ramirez were 2nd and 3rd in the Shot Put, while Maurice and Danilo Juarez were 2nd and 3rd in the Discus. With the meet on the line, the 4x400m relay team consisting of Sebastian Cervantes, Christian Hernandez, Angel Dominguez, and Bryan Diaz brought home the victory to close the meet.
Girls Junior Varsity
Sophomores Macey Holmes, Anissa Cason, and Shanelle Manalo along with Freshman Emmaly Monroy Hernandez opened the meet with a 4x100m relay victory which ensured a battle till the very end of the meet. Macey also finished as the 400m and Triple Jump winner. Anissa Cason finished 1st in the 100m and 2nd in the 200m. Freshmen Samantha Dianni was a double winner as she took the Long Jump and High Jump. Emmaly Monroy Hernandez finished 3rd and 2nd in the 100m and 200m races. While Shanelle Manalo was 2nd and 3rd in the 100m and 200m. Cecilia Hernandez was 3rd place overall in the 400m. Alejandra Duran was 3rd in the 3200m run. Alexxa Fierro was 2nd in the Triple Jump. Brittany Salazar and Eva Toledo were 2nd and 3rd in the High Jump. Sierra Hill and Denise Cardona were 2nd and 3rd in the Shot Put, and Denise also won the Discus. Pacifica swept the top 11 spots in the Long Jump, top 4 spots in the High Jump, top 3 spots in the 100m and 200m. With the meet on the line Pauline Gomez, Emmaly Monroy Hernandez, Macey Holmes, and Anissa Cason won the 4x400m relay to seal the victory for the Tritons.
